Saying Goodbye To The Year 2016….

As the year of 2016 draws to a close, and a new year is right around the corner, I always like to take a little time to reflect on the year that has been, as well as setting intentions for the year ahead. As we just moved into the final Mercury retrograde of the year, it is the perfect time to do a little introspection and release, before going full steam ahead in 2017.

2016 has been an interesting year with many changes, both for me personally, and for our country (and the world). It has been a year of huge growth for me. In fact, I was just talking to a friend the other day, and telling her how I felt that I have grown more in this one year, than I had during the previous 10 years. And I don’t think that’s just me.

As our planetary shift carries on and we continue to move into a new paradigm of consciousness, I think we are all experiencing a lot of changes and shifts within our own lives, as well as those around us. It’s like we can’t be on the sidelines anymore, but are almost thrust into this new energy, invited to step up and step into our own light more and more.

I’ve been feeling this a lot this year in particular, and have really felt the calling to embrace my true self, and live my life more authentically. This meant not hiding my light any more, but to start sharing my gifts and coming into my own as a healer and lightworker. I’m sure I’m not alone in this. As empaths and sensitives we all have special gifts and talents to share with the world, but because of our sensitivities it can also be really scary to begin to put yourself “out there”. Most of us are not extroverted by nature, I am definitely an introvert myself, and deciding to become more visible and stepping into leadership, have brought up all kinds of insecurities, self-doubt and you name it…

But when you feel your soul’s calling so strongly that you can’t ignore it, but feel that you have to heed it, then that’s what you do, come rain, hail or shine. 🙂 I have no regrets, though, and plan to step into the new year even stronger, and keep spreading light and love in the world, in my own special way. And I invite you to do the same!

Now the holidays are here, however, so before the new year kicks in, let’s take a little time to enjoy ourselves. Spend some time with friends and family, eat good food, and have some fun. And let’s also take the opportunity of this downtime to reflect on what has been, and what we want to release, as well as bring in more of, as the new year approaches. Are you with me?

I like to do a journaling exercise of this, by focusing first on what I am ready to let go of, and do a ritual around that. I write it all down, and then I either breathe it out, “tap” it out, or envision putting it all into a burlap bag and then zapping it with violet light (violet light transmutes negative energy and turns it into positive energy). You can also throw it into a fire (real or imagined). The idea is that you do a ritual around releasing all the things that no longer serve you, any lingering negative energies from this year.

Once you feel complete with that, then go ahead and set your intentions for the new year. Write it all down in your journal, then read them out loud. I like to write everything down as affirmations. Good affirmations are powerful, present and positive. This means that that they make us feel something, and contain a strong positive statement in present tense (no negatives such as “I don’t want… etc.). We write out what we want as though it has already happened, and you are experiencing it right now (eg. I am vibrantly healthy, happy, and run a successful business).

Then take a little time and visualize yourself experiencing all the things that you wrote down in great detail. See yourself moving through a day in your life. What people are you interacting with? What do you do for a living? Who are you spending time with? What are you wearing? What are you eating? As you keep visualizing, pay particular attention to how you are feeling. The more you can feel the good feelings of your experience, the better it is, and the more real it will be to your mind. This is key in helping to manifest it all.

So I invite you to do this exercise with me before the end of the year, to really set the stage for a bigger, better and more prosperous 2017. I can’t wait to see what the new year has in store for us all. 🙂

And that’s me signing off for this year, with my final blog entry. I wish you a peaceful, joyous holiday season, and I look forward to experiencing a prosperous and happy 2017 with you all!

Love & light,
