Blessings & Abundance for 2017!

We made it! ūüôā 2017 is here, and a fresh, new year is laid out in front of us.

I hope the holidays brought you much peace, quality time with family and friends and time to rest and rejuvenate your body and soul, so that you are ready to take on this new year.

I know 2016 was a challenging year for a lot of us, many of my friends and clients certainly felt it, and I definitely had my moments too. For me it felt like a year that brought up a lot of stuff that I needed to work through. So although it felt challenging in a lot of ways, it also helped me to lay the foundation for this year to come. For that reason I am grateful for the challenges in my life, as I know that they are helping me to grow and become a stronger and better person.

Having said that though, I am also very much ready for an easier time of it this year, and if the recent messages from astrologers and numerologists are anything to go by, then that is what we are getting. Within numerology, if you add up the numbers in 2016, you get 2+0+1+6 = 9. The number 9 is a number of completion, and last year was a year that wrapped up a cycle, with a lot of turbulence and shifts on a personal, community and global level. However, with 2017, which is a 1 year within numerology, meaning new beginnings, we begin a new cycle, and one that in many ways will be easier.

Whether that is true or not though, for us empaths and¬†lightworkers I don’t think that necessarily means we should¬†just sit back and take it easy. On the contrary, I think we are being called to step up now¬†more than ever, and bring our gifts into the world. And the best way to do that, in my opinion, is to become more in tune with our own inner essence. When we are in tune with our own inner essence, and let the voice of our hearts guide us, our lives make more sense, and we can begin to experience life more as it is meant to; full of love, joy, abundance and peace.

Getting to that place isn’t done over night, of course, as it takes a little¬†time, and a little¬†work, to clear out all the walls and fears that have been created within us from previous letdowns and disappointments. And then we need to let our lights shine out into the world and begin to step into our own mastery, which can sometimes be the hardest part of all. As I write this I am reminded of the wonderful quote by Marianne Williamson, and I can’t think of a better message to give to you for this new year than that:

‚ÄúOur deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.‚ÄĚ

I believe with all of my heart that you not only have many¬†gifts to give to the world, but¬†you are a gift to the world. You are here for a reason, and your unique experiences, talents and gifts can help others. So if you haven’t already embraced all of what you are, your own inner essence, and started shining your light, now is the time to do so.

I would be honored to help you on that journey in any way that I can. And for now I would love to invite you, if you feel called, to join me for a 40-day meditation practice. You may, or may not, know that I am a Kundalini Yoga teacher, and within that tradition we often do 40-day practices, as that is the time it takes for us to shift out of old habits and into new ones. I just began practicing this beautiful meditation at the beginning of the year, but you can join in at any time (and if you don’t feel up to doing the 40 days, then do it as much or as little as you want, even doing it just once will make a difference). The meditation is called “Meditation for Gurprasad“, which means “gift of the guru”, and helps to bring in prosperity, blessings and grace for the new year and beyond.

Tune in by repeating the following mantra 3 times: Ong Namo, Guru Dev Namo

MUDRA: Sit comfortably with your spine straight. Cup the hands together, with the palms face up, at the level of the heart center. The elbows and upper arms will comfortably tuck against the ribcage. This is a very restful posture. The meridian points on the ribcage give immediate relaxation. Fill your heart, fill your soul, with whatever comes to you from the bounties of nature. Feel that you are asking & receiving a blessing from God.

EYES: Keep the eyes 90% closed, 10% open. Allow them to close completely during the meditation.

TIME: No restrictions placed on the time. Practice 3, 7, 11 minutes or more (I am doing it for 11 minutes).

Allow all the blessings of heaven to flow to you; ask for whatever you need; know yourself to be blessed; feel the boundless flow of spirit. Just let it happen. Fill your heart and soul with all the bounties of nature. Simply meditate on the boundless flow of the Universal Soul, and feel a deep inflow of spirit.

If you like you can play a beautiful mantra in the background as you meditate. Personally, I like this one right here.

Before I go, I want to wish you a Happy, Prosperous, Peaceful New Year, and I can’t wait to continue to share, grow and shine our lights together in this new energy of 2017!

Love & light,
