Being True To Your Self

Hi there,

How is this year going for you so far? Did you commit to any resolutions or goals that you are working on implementing?

I definitely have goals for the year and things I want to accomplish, and I like to take the beginning of a new year to redefine my goals and desires. There is something about the energy of new beginnings that helps to fuel my motivation and kick-start that fire and take action. And this year it is truly a new beginning, as we enter into a new phase of our paradigm shift and 2017 being a 1 year within numerology.

I don’t know about you, but I find the energies so far this year being off the hook! In fact, I have felt compelled to do things that I didn’t really plan for at all, but seems to just fit in perfectly with my overall goal of more energy, joy and alignment this year. One of them is joining a gym. I have been committed to exercise in the form of yoga for many years now, but lately I felt I needed something new to spice things up a little. So I found myself packing my bag and heading off to the gym with my husband the other day, kind of spur of the moment, and ended up signing up for a membership and even getting some personal training.

I am realizing that as an empath and highly sensitive person I need to release all the excess energy I pick up from my environment, as well as also build up my own personal power so that I can maintain the courage and confidence to live my own truth. And although you wouldn’t usually think of weight training as anything particularly spiritual, it has actually become that for me. Strengthening my physical body is also strengthening my mind and will-power, and so this form of exercise for me has become all about accessing my inner warrior and powering up the solar plexus chakra, which is something I really needed.

Being authentic and true to yourself isn’t always easy, and for me there have already been things brought up this new year that are challenging me in this area. Of course, I find that usually happens whenever you want to shift something. Now that I am committed to living authentically, though, I have decided that I will not back down and settle for things that are not 100% in alignment with who I am and what I want.

As empaths and sensitives, I find that we far too often bend over backwards to please everyone else and end up putting ourselves last. We think of ourselves as nice people and don’t want to upset or hurt others. It is of course a noble thing to want to please other people and make them happy, but not too the point of hurting ourselves. I for one am not willing to keep living like that, and this year I am even more committed to being true to myself, and not make excuses that cost me my own happiness. After all, I am the only one who can be truly responsible for my own life.

So whether you have made goals, resolutions or commitments to yourself this year or not, how about if nothing else, we can commit together to being more true to ourselves and show ourselves more love than ever before? And yes, I know that isn’t always easy with the million commitments that we have to our families, jobs etc. But that’s ok. You don’t have to be perfect at this (another expectation we empaths and sensitives tend to put on ourselves). All you have to do is make a commitment, and then renew that commitment whenever you “fall off the wagon”. Are you with me? Let’s make this our year to shine!

I am making this a short and sweet post, as I am busy putting together some cool, new offerings and freebies that I will put out there soon. For those of you who enjoyed the free chakra challenge that I put on last year, stay tuned for another challenge coming up soon, around the end of the month/beginning of next month. This one will focus on opening up to more self-love in our lives, and I can’t wait to share it with you. More information to come soon, so stay tuned.

For now, I hope that you are taking good care of yourself, so that you can shine your light and live true to yourself, more and more every day.

Love & light,
